Information You Submit
Queries Sent Through Search
A name, location, or other term entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The query is handled under that provider's terms and privacy policy. Tift County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. Visitors should review the search provider's policy before sending information they consider sensitive.
Messages Sent to Us
When a visitor sends an email or contact-form message, we retain the information needed to read the request and provide a response. A message may include the sender's name, email address, and any details the sender chooses to provide. We do not disclose contact messages outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, such as in response to a valid legal demand.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard technical information may be recorded when a page loads. This data helps operate the site, measure general use, and diagnose faults. Depending on the visitor's browser, device, and the services active on a page, the recorded details may include:
- The internet protocol address associated with the request
- The browser name, browser type, and software version
- The kind of device and its operating system
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring website or source, when one is supplied
- The date and time connected with each request
Cookies and Browser Controls
Cookies and similar browser storage may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and interact with its features. A cookie is a small file stored through a browser. Most browsers let users block, limit, or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may change how some search, preference, analytics, or advertising features work.
Reasons We Use Data
- Operate the site, deliver pages, and maintain reasonable performance
- Send a visitor's search request to the partner service selected by the search tool
- Measure which Tift County release-record pages visitors find useful
- Detect errors, investigate failures, and correct technical problems
- Display advertising that may be selected according to a visitor's interests
Privacy on Linked Services
Tift County Released Inmates links to outside resources, including the Tift County Sheriff's Office and jail roster, Tift County courts, Georgia Department of Corrections tools, parole and community-supervision resources, VINELink, federal custody locators, and third-party search services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination's terms and privacy policy govern the visit. We do not control how those outside services gather, retain, use, or disclose information.
Advertising partners may use cookies or related technologies on their own systems to recognize activity across different websites and select targeted advertising. That tracking is performed through the partner's technology, not through a separate personal-information file maintained by Tift County Released Inmates. Visitors can consult each advertising provider's policy and available opt-out controls.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell visitors' personal information. Limited information may still be transmitted or disclosed when needed to provide a service, analyze site use, support advertising, or comply with a binding legal requirement. Possible recipients include:
- Search partners that process terms submitted through their tools
- Analytics providers that help measure traffic and page use
- Advertising networks that deliver or evaluate advertisements
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Safeguarding Visitor Information
We use standard, reasonable practices intended to protect information under our control against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or disclosure. Security controls reduce risk but cannot remove it. No website, internet transmission, connected service, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure or breach-proof. Visitors should avoid sending information that is not needed for their request.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent, guardian, or minor believes that a person under 18 submitted personal data through a message or contact form, they may contact us and request its deletion. We will review the request and remove the information when reasonably verifiable and applicable.
Your Information Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of information that is inaccurate
- Ask us to erase personal information, when applicable
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where that choice is available
Changes to This Notice
Privacy practices and the services used by the site may change. We may revise this notice to reflect those changes. An updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means the visitor accepts the revised practices.
